We're full steam ahead on the Jupiter Bungalow, and so today I'm sharing the concept and inspiration for this complete redesign. And by redesign, I mean complete and utter gut. We went so far as to take the roof off the main part of the house, raise the ceiling by two feet and completely reconfigure the front and back walls. I'll fill you in on where we're at in the process soon.
Designed by Michael Davis in Sagaponack, NY, this kitchen was a huge source of inspiration. It has the perfect blend of white and wood for a similar coastal vibe we're going for. | Source: Curbed
The Jupiter Bungalow is located about a block off the ocean, so it feels appropriate to stick with subtle coastal vibes, but in a sophisticated and relaxed way. I'm thinking Hamptons meets south Florida. To capitalize on those new high ceilings, we're going for light and airy. Soft whites everywhere, and then light wood accents to achieve a less formal look, but certainly one that's still breathtakingly beautiful.

This bathroom is light, but not boring and polished but not stuffy. Pure perfection. | Source: Studio McGee
We've finalized the designs of three bathrooms, the kitchen, a living room (with built-ins and a gas fireplace) and we're putting the finishing touches on the laundry room. We'll be sharing those designs in more posts soon. In the meantime, these inspirational designs should get you through these last summer days!
