It took 18 months to finally get a photoshoot scheduled for the Maplewood Colonial, and we can’t wait finally share the photos. Naturally, as soon as the shoot wrapped, we promptly started tearing into new projects, but we’ve at least documented some of the progress around here. Living here, it doesn’t feel like the changes have been that drastic, but if you visit this post to see how it looked we bought it, she’s come a long way. The last 18 months were about making lots of unseen changes. Sure we painted every surface (literally, every. single. surface.), refinished the floors, changed out 90% of the lighting and finally got the furniture to a good place. But compared to the major renovation we have planned, those were all relatively small projects.
So we really have done a lot of work, and it feels like the kind of home we were hoping for. Bright, clean, warm and welcoming. We’re hoping to do a major renovation soon, where we completely gut the kitchen, open up the dining room, build out a pantry/mud room and add on a master suite (with laundry on the second floor!) We’ll get there, though it’s a slow process and I’m not very patient. But today we are celebrating the process and a brief stopping point in the process to show you how it’s going. Enjoy a little peek into our home!
